Lately, it’s been a fashion musical chairs with the amount of designers switching houses, or leaving to establish their own lines. The latest fashion update is that ex YSL designer Stefano Pilati is moving to Milan for not one, but two new exciting roles at the Ermenegildo Zegna Group.Starting in Jan 2013, Stefanao will take over as head of design for design for Ermenegildo Zegna, in charge of all fashion shows and the Couture collection. At the same time he will be creative director for the brand’s secondary women’s luxury line, Agnona.

I wonder what Stefano will bring to the brand. He does seem a good fit since he was known for his menswear silhouettes and impeccable cuts at YSL.

A protégé of Tom Ford, Pilati’s first collection for YSL was hailed as a masterpiece. Check out his last ever collection for them – for which he got a standing ovation.

And here’s an interview clip of Stefano talking about the house change, and his views on fashion:

What do you think about this new shake-up?
