The affable couple Ashok and Payal Datwani launched their revamped and much awaited Shatranj Napoli with a celebrity-studded brunch in Mumbai on Sunday afternoon. An added space is the eclectic all day Polpo Cafe and Bar while Shatranj continues to be a fine-dine restaurant offering Italian fare.
Payal’s supermodel sister, Anchal Kumar, had a number of her buddies from the fashion world over for an afternoon of lethal cocktails and lots of chatter over platters of pasta.
Payal and Ashok went out of their way to ensure everybody was having a fun brunch experience and personally looked after their celebrity guests who included Sohail Khan, Helen and Salim Khan, Sameer Datani, Aanchal Kumar, Payal Datwani, Mugda Godse, Narendra Kumar, Rohit and Ronit Roy, Shiamak Davar, Aditya Pancholi, Manjiri Phadnis, Babita Malkani, Yukta Mukhey, Freddy Daruwala, Prachi Desai, Sucheta Sharma, Aliesa Raut, Anupam Mittal, Chetan Hansraj, Shabbir Aluwalia and Kanchi Kaul, Leena Mogre, Asif Bamla, Nishka Lulla, Vikram Bawa, Arzoo Gowitrikar, Shahwar Ali, Acquin Pais, Srishti Kumar and Ayub Khan.
