I honestly stopped watching the show two years ago but now that Salman Khan has promised to make it “family viewing” and there’s such a motley crew of randos, that I’m intrigued. One because there’s just no way this will ever be “family viewing” and two because, well sometimes the blog just writes itself! I watched the first episode tonight and here’s what jumped out at me… let me know what got to you! :)
Fishy Kapoor, really? I bet Salman thought of that epic name all by himself.
Daler Mehendi’s shoulder pads.
I think @Marv_in_a_box tweeted it best… “Lady Gaga fans called, they want their shoulders back!”
Navjot Singh Siddhu.
If you thought his cricket commentary was hysterical you may not be able to handle his commentary on life. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
A Not-so-PG-13 Sana Khan.
Who first danced seductively into the house to Chikni Chameli and Halkat Jawani and then proved within minutes that she and Malibu Barbie probably have the same IQ.
“Hello Rajat!” Camera Hog.
Vrijesh Hirji. I kinda wanna slap you already. (And who the f*ck is Rajat?!) Go on do it, shoot yourself. Make My Day.
The Pink Lady.
“Mere Naam Sampat Pal, Commander Gulabi Gang.” Sana is already petrified of her. This is going to be AWESOME!
PS. She seems like the touchy-feely type, I wonder if she brought a pink bathing suit along? *lol*
Mona Lisa Snooze.
Then it was a bit of a snoozefest and the house added TV vamp Urvashi Dholakia and another rando TV actress Aashka Goradia. Plus the customary Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Yadav who made his entry, tapori style… the only entertaining part was perhaps that his B-grade co-star’s name is Mona Lisa.
Apna Sapna, Money Money!
Sapna Bhavnani handed Salman Khan a “Teri Maa Ki Youth” T-shirt and asked him about Katrina Kaif *lol* Oh boy. And is it just me or does she seem like a bit of strange fit for this crowd? Make some money and get out girl.
Bitchy Comment #1
The Exes. (Grace Aur Dignity)
Delnaz and Rajeev Paul. First they all hugged Delnaz a bunch and someone giggled, “Gujrati party yay!” and then there was high drama… and a little comedy when Rajev said to Salman, “What’s going on Big Bru?” and mentioned something about “grace and dignity.” I guarantee bru, that’s not why you’ve been picked to be on the show.
Aseem Trivedi is going to have SO much awesome cartoon content for the next three months. OMG. I bet he and Sampat Pal become BFFs.
The TV Trinity.
And yet more family viewing with TV actress Sayantani Ghosh’s item number entry to Maiya Maiya. What is this? The once-I-used-to-be-on-TV special? Or as @Marv_in_a_box so brilliantly put it – meet The Bigg Boss Trinity.
And of course enter – Radhe the Parrot. Because there just aren’t enough crazy birds in the house already.
And then the customary eye candy Niketan “Mad-hock” and Karishma Kotak. I can tell the trinity are going to hate her guts.
Aside from the “Common Man,” Rani Mukerji made an appearance and did her whacko song Dreamum Wakeupum and my head exploded…
Um… someone want to break it to him that he’s with the dredges of entertainment on this show?! But right, that might break Navjot Singh Siddhu’s heart… stay tuned for updates as I watch this train wreck of a show! :)
