Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan are the new hotties on the block, and are receiving their fair share of attention these days. While their acting talent remains to be seen, if we’re judging purely by looks, it’s quite obvious that they’ve got that hero material in them – the same hero material that Karan Johar apparently saw when they were assisting him on sets of My Name is Khan. On The Front Row with Anupama Chopra, KJo talks about the moment that he knew these two would be heroes. Here’s what he said!

Anupama Chopra: There must have been hundreds and hundreds of kids in your office testing for ‘Student of The Year’. What makes these two special?Karan Johar: For me, my impulse told me that Varun and Siddharth were Rohan and Abhimanyu of this film. I didn’t want to look at anybody else. I didn’t even audition hundred other actors. I just knew they were boys who were Associate Directors on ‘My Name Is Khan’. Karan Malhotra (director of ‘Agneepath’ and also an AD on ‘My Name is Khan) is a disciplinarian. He said they (Varun and Siddharth) came back late in the night and were with girls and partying. I was like, “Oh my God! These two are born heroes!” and I knew it then (laughs).
