Courtney Love, lead vocalist and founding member of the, grunge band named Hole, has finally launched her new fashion label called, “Never The Bride“. Take a look at her first collection, what she describes as “Edwardian/Victorian” clothing with an edge. Courtney has been as outspoken about her love for fashion as much as for all the “Shhhh”. From her gritty rocker chick beginnings alongside late husband Kurt Kobain to her much documented shenanigans, this time Courtney is a business-woman/designer.
After 5 long years, Courtney finally went twitter crazy and tweeted pictures from her collection for “Never The Bride”. Suddenly, at 1am (ISD) her tweet handle was loaded with candid twitpics from her collection. First to respond was actress, Kirstie Alley, who seemed quite excited and called it, ‘actually UNIQUE’. It was last year when Love received all the necessary permissions for the line and it’s finally here. She informed her fans on twitter, that her collection will son be available on the online shopping store, Net-a-Porter.Com
A grunge twist to old fashion Victorian clothing, the line is infused with Courtney personal knowledge and love for vintage style. The collection is yet to be caught on to by the fashion enthusiasts. Her shoot in the Contributor Magazine has punk-haired model, Chloe Norgaard in a kind of “gritty girl in a pretty room” set up. What’s the verdict on her collection? we’ll have to wait and find out once the brand takes-off and makes more appearances in the fashion circuit.
For a girl who has made frequently appearances in the worst-dressed lists, Courtney knows her fashion history. In a video interview, she disclosed that she used to work in the wardrobe department for Paramount, and used to keep all the garments that she was supposed to throw away.Learning from there, she developed a love and interest for vintage clothing. Karl Lagerfeld during an interview after his show called her a “A free modern woman who couldn’t care less…”. Watch Love show off her strong collection of vintage clothes from the eras including the 20s and shoes from Marc Jacobs, Prada and the likes.
I’m Sure after watching the video, most fashion druggies with cringe at seeing Courtney Love walking through vintage one of kind and some designer pieces with a lit cigarette in her hand! Fashion blasphemy or just the way of life for a rockstar? We wish Love the best for the “Never The Bride” line as she joins other musicians with successful clothing lines.
