The catfights between Bollywood actresses can be legendary – especially if the two can be considered contemporaries. Anushka Sharma has always maintained, though, that she knows she’s a smaller star than Katrina Kaif and therefore was mentally sorted about working with her on Jab Tak Hai Jaan. On the coming episode of The Front Row, Anupama Chopra asked Anushka just how she managed to be level-headed about this situation – you can catch the episode tonight for the full conversation, but for now, here’s what Anushka said.

Anupama Chopra: Anushka, since you started this project, you’ve been asked about working with Katrina and you’ve given an incredibly sorted answer: that you are aware that she is the bigger star and accepted it. In a business rife with insecurity, how have you kept such a level head?

Anushka Sharma: It’s very important to know where you are. I can’t over-imagine or misjudge my status. I’m aware Katrina is a bigger star than I am and I’m comfortable where I am in my place. So much pressure is put on actresses when they are doing a film together even before anything has happened, even before they’ve met each other. So I was a little apprehensive in the first few days. But then I realized both of us got along really well, it’s actually about that. Either you get along or you won’t. For both of us, this is the first time that we are working with Yash Chopra and I’m sure, even she’ll agree, I don’t want to spoil my experience of being in this film by letting these small things come in the way.
