Sunday morning saw a number of celebrities get out of the cozy comfort of their homes and throng the
Adoptathon 2012, Mumbai’s biggest stray adoption drive, an initiative by World For All (WFA), the animal welfare NGO and id8 media solutions. This
one-of-its-kind event was inaugurated by MP Priya Dutt.
Spotted at the event and lending their support to this noble initiative included Hema Malini, Director Amol Gupte, Shahzahn Padamsee & Rupali Ganguly. There was also a special celebrity panel that included Om Puri, Anushka Manchanda, Meiyang Chang, Rajat Barmecha and Diandra Soares.
This pet adoption fair witnessed over eighty Indian mixed breeds of puppies and kittens being adopted and a massive turnout of over a 1300 people who came in to show their support and provide a nice home to the little angels. Adoptathon 2012 also saw various stalls to keep the animal lovers busy. These stalls included couture costume jewelry brand Bracialeto which sold customized accessories with pet charms for pet parents, stalls selling pet accessories and merchandise, special treats and goodie bags from the pet bakery, educative dog workshops from WFA etc.
