We at MissMalini love to support young talent, and we’re happy to report that one of the most lovely collections at the ongoing India Resort Fashion Week 2012 in Goa, was displayed by the enthusiastic and talented students of the Rachna Sansad School of Fashion & Design in Mumbai. They have been guided and mentored by the very able Neha Asthana Ojha, and her prolific hand is seen in the fantastic resort wear garments the young guns proudly presented on the ramp.
The show opened with a hot ombré orange gown in georgette with palm prints, followed by a halter layered version, and then tiny yellow hot pants to complete the trio. Shades of the ocean came alive in sixteen creations with prints in sea green and aqua blue – featuring asymmetric tops, slit leg printed jumpsuits, and off-shoulder blouson tops. Flowing sheer halters, cross over tops, and molded drop waist dresses (with slashed layered skirts or sheer long trails) were the prize pieces in the collection.
Moving into a rich purple story of abstract jungle prints, the asymmetric dresses some with gold bodice & cut-away armholes added to the glamour of the garments. The eye catchers were the Grecian gown in shaded purple, while the glittering fitted bodice creation with gold pin tucked trails made for impressive evening wear.
The ruffled corsage inspired mini with raised collar and multi-shredded fish tail gown in shades of blue, was a fitting end to a glamorous show.
