There was more than just Three Cheers for the young and uber talented Ken Ferns who showed off a bright collection inspired by the bubbly feel of Budweiser beer (the sponsors of his line) on Day-3 of India Resort Fashion Week in Goa. The designer played with three distinct colours – red, blue and white, and worked the trio of shades through solid colours and prints, to make for a vibrantly colourful resort wear.
There were innumerable permutations and combinations of the three colours and abstract prints, as mini bat-wing kaftans over striped bikinis and geometric piped sleeves added to the resort look of the tunics. Colour-blocking also came alive for minis, while the floral capris looked like really fun wear with butterfly sleeve tops or tie-up red chiffon skirts.
Keeping in with the resort theme, the bandana scarves on the heads of the models added that great retro, 1980’s feel.
When it came to men’s wear, Ken did not move away from the colour story or the holiday fun mood. Floral shorts, shirts and jackets along with sheer shirts (some with interesting pin tuck yokes) kept the theme alive.
