MissMalini: Hi Sarah! Thanks for talking to me on the phone. I keep running into you at b:blunt, is that your go to place for quick pick-me-up when you wanna look pretty? You said you pamper you hair a lot right?
Sarah Jane Dias: The entire b:bunt and I have had a long, long relationship. I love going there to be pampered because I know everyone by name, the coffee is always good, the rituals always leave me feeling like I’m floating on a cloud and somehow, it feels like an extension of home (a fancy home).
MM: Femina Miss India was a huge platform for you but you were already a VJ first right? Do you think girls who enter the contest are still doing as well or the quality has dropped somehow?
SJD: It’s hard to say. Some winners have made it and some have not. I don’t think the quality of the show has anything to do with it. Being a Miss India is irreplaceable.
MM: Everyone thought you looked super hot in Game and Kya Super Cool Hain Hum are we going to see you in anymore Bollywood movies soon?
SJD: Yes! Very soon, but if I tell you more about it, I’ll have to kill you 🙂 But I will say this, it’s a big one.
MM: What’s one thing you wish people had told you about working in Bollywood that you know now!
SJD: That my personal life will become my public life.
MM: What are the last Bollywood and Hollywood movies you saw and loved (or hated!)
SJD: I loved Barfi, I loved Life of Pi and I loved Wreck it Ralph.
MM: A co-star you’d kill to work with? And a Bollywood movie you wish you’d been in?
SJD: I’d kill to work with Ranbir. And I wish I’d been in ZNMD and Fashion.
MM: You’re quite a fashionista I have to say how would you describe your personal style?
SJD: I like being experimental and I don’t think I’d ever wear something that I wasn’t comfortable in. I love fashion and everything about it but I must admit that I often rely on my stylist to show me the way.
MM: What’s your favorite look on yourself?
SJD: I love me in a denim on denim with brogues.
MM: I saw you wore Atsu last night to the Harpers Bazaar party, and that stunning Masaba Gupta sari at her Satya Paul event, who are your favorite designers? Indian and otherwise?
SJD: Love Shantanu and Nikhil, Gaurav Gupta, Surily Goel, Shivan and Naresh, Gauri Nainika, oh and so many more!
MM: Your schedule must be so hectic what’s your secret, how do you still look so fresh and dewy all the time?!
SJD: Sleep, water, fruit 🙂 and yes, cleanse, tone, moiturize everyday

SJD: I always wanted to be a Miss India and that was motivation enough. I’d love to work with Ranbir.
