Is German designer Philipp Plein trying to send out a message of protest or his he glorifying violence? This is what the fashion world seems to be debating after watching his Autumn-Winter 2013 menswear collection was shown at Milan Fashion Week, yesterday.

With a catwalk lined with sandbags, the designer sent his sinewy models down the runway in quasi combat gear, toting guns and with messages like “only kill for real love” painted on their bare bodies. Some of them wore masks to hide their faces while others wore Army-style dog-tags.

Of course, this has not gone down too well after the recent shooting of twenty young children and six adults in Connecticut. One model was even seen carrying a teddy bear – made of chain-mail metal.

What’s your opinion? Is the designer trying to impress a socially relevant message or is he glorifying violence?
