Very often, young talent is ignored in favour of big names when it comes to having their moment in the spotlight. There are a number of young designers across the country who are immensely talented but don’t have proper access to PR and the media like their big-city counterparts. Consequently, we rarely get to know about them or have access to their fabulous work.
Among this young and talented lot is designer Robert Naorem from Manipur who recently showed his new collection at the Manipur Fashion Extravaganza 2013. He chose former model turned choreographer, Achla Sachdev, to be his show-stopper and sent her down the ramp, dressed as a Manipuri bride.
