A friend of mine just asked me for my Goa recommendations and I wrote him this email that I figured you might enjoy as well 🙂 Here are 12 things you must absolutely do in Goa!

Dear friend, I love Goa and I know you will too as long as you meticulously visit at least 8 of the 12 recommendations on this list. #NuffSaid!

1. Thalassa

Eat at the absolutely divine Greek restaurant called Thalassa, in Vagator. Call Ivan +91 9850033537 to make a reservation/get directions you can tell him you got his number from me!

2. LA PLAGE

Also eat at La Plage, a gorgeous French restaurant in Morjim. If you eat shellfish you MUST order the grilled mussels. TWO plates, trust me. They recently added a chocolate thali to their menu and it’s heaven. Call 9822121712 or Morgon on 09822878980 to make a reservation because they tend to fill up even off season.

3. Visit Morjim/Ashwem

In fact, this stretch of Morjim/Ashvem beach is actually quite lovely, you can spend a beach day here and do lunch or dinner at La Plage. Lots of shacks to hang out at and the water is really nice (aka no seaweed or trash!) So just find a beach shack and eat some fish/prawn curry rice & Goan sausages along with a Kings beer. (Keep in mind Goan food tends to be spicy so tell them if you want them to tone it down or order A LOT of rice!) My friends Sujal Shah & Surelee Joseph had their wedding here, take a look so you  get a sense of the beach!

4. Curlie’s

The other awesome spot to hang out at late night, is Curlie‘s in Goa. They open-pour their drinks and have these delicious poi (bread) egg sandwiches for a late night snack that will really hit the spot at 2am.

5. Saturday Night Market

Visit the Saturday Night Market – It is super fun and is situated in Arpora, great for street food (the rotisseri chicken is to-die-for) and great shopping, especially for girls 🙂

6. Massage

Get a Balinese massage at Snip! a giant salon & spa located on the main road between Calangute and Candolim. You simply MUST try one of their massages – aromatic or Balinese – preceded by a 15 minute steam; it was quite possibly the best massage I’ve ever had in my life.

7. North & South

There is a large variety of things to do, both in North Goa and in South Goa. For example in North Goa don’t miss the bikini shopping! Not kidding, the bikini shop is awesome, 1500-2000rs bikinis that last for years, the girls will love it! There is also a Burmese restaurant I have heard good things about but never been to. It’s called Bomra‘s and is in Candolim, so maybe plan spa day and meal together along with some bikini shopping? 🙂

8. Coco Shambhala

I also highly recommend staying a night or two at Coco Shambhala, paradise on Coco beach. It’s awesome and so unique, plus has very clean private pool 🙂

9. ECO Junkies

If you are an eco junkie this is a very interesting place to walk around, let me know you’re going and I will give DJ Iggy a heads up!

10. Silent Noise

Also, if you are looking for a rager try the silent noise party on the beach, quite a unique experience!

11. Casino

If you’re feeling lucky take a trip to the Casino Royale!

Bonus: Woof Woof

On my last trip to Goa I discovered Woof Woof! An amazing boat ride on the Chapora river which could lead to some dolphin spotting and a seriously blissful day on the water. Bon Voyage!

PS. You know I got married in Goa too right? 🙂 xoxo
