Twenty-five years ago, film maker Mira Nair first released Salaam Bombay, a film which revolved around Bombay’s street children. In fact, this film was the launchpad for actor Irfan Khan, who has since gone on to act in Hollywood films like Slumdog Millionaire and A Mighty Heart.

Mira Nair has now re-released the film and had a special screening in Mumbai over the weekend. Among the guests were Sandhya Mridul, Sanjay Suri, Rajat Kapoor and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

Also taking part in the celebrations was Sooni Taraporewalla, who co-wrote the script of the film with Nair.
