It’s probably the glitziest launch Mumbai has seen in a while. Christian Louboutin – the man who makes women feel like Cinderella owing to his red soled shoes – opened his second store in India (and first one in Mumbai) last night. As expected, fans of his work were on hand to celebrate.
Located at Horniman Circle, the store is right next to Hermès. The heritage structure has high-ceilings, a spiral staircase and large windows that make you wide-eyed the minute you enter. It was tempting to whip out our phones and instagram everything in sight, but photography was strictly prohibited – from those delicious pigalles to the funky Fifi spikes (which Louboutin told me Anushka Sharma had recently purchased). Amitabh Bachchan entered flanked by 6 bodyguards and was immediately whisked away to the upper level to see the men’s section. Meanwhile the stars mingled with champagne and Mr Louboutin.
