The folks at Dharma are pretty excited for their upcoming film Gippi, since it’s the first kids film that’s coming out from their banner! The movie, which releases on 10th May, has no big stars or known faces – which is why the production house is planning on roping in some stars to spread word about the film. Arjun Kapoor is one of the first names that Karan Johar zeroed in on – want to know why?
Besides being currently popular amongst the younger audiences, Arjun actually fits in quite well with the theme of the film. Director Sonam Nair tells us why:
“Yes, Arjun has shot a promo for us. Karan wanted him to back the film. Since Gippi is about an overweight kid who doesn’t like to go on diets, Arjun’s name came up as a natural choice because he also used to be plump when he was young and hated dieting. We thought we would tap into his personality because he loves to eat and doesn’t like to adhere to diets. So [in the promo] when we asked him what he would eat, he ordered burgers, cupcakes and pizzas — basically unhealthy, but really tasty food.”
Arjun apparently took out time from his schedule of 2 States and Gunday to shoot these teasers, which should be online soon, so keep an eye out for them!
