Numerous celebrities, stars and socialites turn up each day at the behest of their designer friends to watch the fashion shows at Lakme Fashion Week. And from the many who attended, yesterday, here our some that caught our eye in particular for their off-beat appeal….
RHEA KAPOOR: With a fashionista sister like Sonam Kapoor, one can expect Rhea to be well turned-out as well. And she didn’t disappoint in this Anamika Khanna design which she sported on Day 2 at Lakme Fashion Week. I love the print on the skirt and Rhea manages to keep the outfit looking nice by playing down the accessories. Wise move!
PAYAL KHANDWALA: Artist and designer Payal Khandwala will not be showing at Lakme Fashion Week this season. But she made sure her presence was felt by sporting on of her own creations, yesterday. We particularly are in love with her scarf, edged with cute cowrie shells. Perfect for that added dash of drama!
POORNA JAGANNATHAN: As far as wearing fashion well, Poorna is always on top of our list. Her gait and lanky figure ensure she’s the perfect high-celebrity model for a designer. And that pretty much explains why Shivan & Narresh chose her to wear this white dress, hot off their runway from their Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week show.
PARMESH SHAHANI: Always colourfully dressed with more than a hint of the eccentric, the very affable art curator and writer, Parmesh Shahani, attended Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week in a vibrant shirt by designer Sneha Arora. However, what caught our attention were (not his bright pink pants) but his custom-made bow-tie with a watch on it. He further accessorized his colourful personality with a purple satchel made from khadi paper which he picked up from the Gandhi Khadi Workshop in Ahmedabad.
SONA MOHAPATRA: A die-hard fan of designer Kallol Datta, it didn’t surprise us to see this fabulous singer sport one of his gothic sarees on Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week. She accessorized it with a bold neck-piece by Eina Alhuwalia, which was custom-made for Kallol Datta’s label. Quite edgy, don’t you think?
