The idea of Alice In Wonderland has always fascinated the creative thinker. The idea that things are not really what they seem to be. In fact, our very own MissMalini hosted an Alice In wonderland theme party back in 2011.
But when Alice gets high on acid, you’ll find her ditching her blue and white dress for something spectacular and futuristic from Swapnil Shinde’s show at Lakme Fashion Week. Called Alice On Acid, to say that his show was “tripped-out” would be an understatement.
Defined by acidic pastels, geometric motifs, psychedelic tessellations, slinky metallic petals and jazzily multi colored textured dresses, Swapnil took the audience to a Wonderland which is light-years away.
Said the talented designer post his show, “This collection perfectly mixes the nostalgic classic character of Alice, with a modern pop-driven fictional fantasy. I have experimented with an unusual color palette and have crafted unique shapes and structures which are very my signature style.”
