Sabah is the owner and designer for Indian couture label saanshé based out of Bombay started the brand in 2008 to cater to the American-Asian bride in the US. Today, she is available in India at Studio Saanshé, Aza and Kimaya, and at Shehnaai Couture in New York.

Most designers are inspired by the female form. Their body, their personality, the beauty, the power, and kill me for saying it, but the celebrity quotient! It’s much the same for me. ‘She’ inspires me. But not just she, it’s she and her shoe! Actually it’s mostly ‘The’ shoe. And more often than not, it’s a magnificent pair of spindly stilletoes, hand-crafted to perfection and as dear as the ensemble it inspires me to create.

With each season, all us designers scour the industry for up and coming trends, likes, routes, themes and muses. I’d love to say I’m ruthlessly organised and a fashionably constantly-blinking-lightbulb. But I’d be lying. Having done the trending, it’s all I can do but laze and loll, until lightning strikes and work begins. And this season, it’s been this stunning array of mind bogglingly gorgeous shoes. Yes it’s a fetish I’ve turned to muse. So here are my 3 favourites this season, shoes and their saanshé sirens.
