Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan attended the success party of Ameesh Tripathi‘s Shiva trilogy, and if you’re thinking that it’s quite unusual to have a success bash of a book in India (when we only tend to have one for films and the like), then AB senior would agree with you! He posted about the event on his blog yesterday, calling it “historic” and “unique.” Have a look!
Amitabh writes on his blog:
“The latter part of the evening was filled with an event for the success of a book ! Yes quite an unusual phenomena and historic too, but it happened.
Amish Tripathi the autor of the Shiva Trilogy, was celebrating the huge success of his last book – “The Oaths of the Vayuputras”. His earlier two books have created history in the publishing world of India. Never before have so many books been sold in advance and in print orders to the tune of millions. We are used to celebrating the success of our films, a cricket series or a world cup victory. But the success of a book, is a first as far as I am concerned. There was music and dance and video clips and fanfare, just like an Award ceremony for films … quite quite unique !!”
He even noted that it was great to see so much interest in a book, and believes the success of it shows that the era of reading paper books is not over just yet. Do you agree?
