Now that summer is upon us you may want a golden tan and to bring your skimpy wardrobe out! But what do you do about the cellulite? This has obviously been on my wish list to crack for all us ladies (the others are stretch marks, grey hair etc.) There are many theories – micro circulation, hormones, hereditary, diet, life style. Therefore the solutions are many too. But the sad part is none can solve this problem fully.

Cellulite, for the non initiated, is the dimpling of skin, or its orange peel appearance on various parts of the body especially your butt and thighs. This is basically the fat under your skin separated by fibrous tissue and when the two surfaces glide separately the fibrous tissue tries to hold back and the fat bulges out.

My yoga guru Miru says this is because of toxicity of the spleen. So say the Chinese. But most diet gurus say, no diet can help – what really helps is a work out!

So here ‘s everything you can try and each one of these are supported by a theory, so this should help!

1) Work out regularly, it supports your tissue fluids and micro circulation.
2) Eat healthy so there is not much accumulation of fat.
3) Massages help stimulate the skin. Deep tissue massage and heating with equipment like vella shapes also helps.
4) If there are a few deep dimples on your butt cheek then a combination of breaking the attachment and filling in some fat there will help as well. Let your doctor choose this for you.

So there’s some hope towards improvement for sure!
