On The Front Row with Anupama Chopra this week, she has three very special guests: the newcomers of Bollywood, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sidharth Malhotra. As Ayushmann himself noted in the show, there were four new actors in 2012 who did very well, so as you can imagine, the competition is pretty much on – which is why Anupama asked them if they ever keep track of each other to see what they’re all signing. Here’s what the three boys said!
Anupama Chopra: Do you guys keep a track on each other? The reality is that you are all up for the same roles. Do you check out what films other actors are signing?
Sushant Singh Rajput: Although I would like it, but there is no time. (Laughs) I will be very frank. I want to be associated with the right kind of script, with a brilliant character to play and I would do anything to get that thing.
Sidharth Malhotra: It is up to the director. You can’t control it. And there is no point. I don’t know what is the point of keeping tabs? It is very hard to keep a tab because there is so much happening. Their ads, their events, their films, their personal lives. So, it is just a waste of time and energy. You might use that to do something else and work on your film and your craft.
Ayushmann Khurrana: There were 4 new actors in 2012 and all of them did very well. In the years to come, there will be plenty more. You will lose your peace of mind if you keep track on other people. Just concentrate on your work man. Do your job. But I will tell you frankly that I had contacted Adi (Aditya Chopra) for Maneesh’s (Sharma) script that Sushant is playing right now. But I was okay with it because Adi was like, ‘Nahi yaar, tu isme suit nahi karega.‘
