We told you earlier that things are a bit stressful on the sets of Mental, since there’s a dispute happening between the stuntmen from Mumbai and those from the South. Now, word has it that the producers have infact been incurring huge losses – the team has lost about 25 crores and twelve days of shooting, and the matter is yet to be resolved.
According to the All India Film Employees Confederation (AIFEC), 70% of the stuntmen have to be from the Hindi film industry and 30% from the South. But the South stuntmen are insisting that 50% of their men are hired for the film, and have refused to continue to shoot until this happens. They have erected a huge set in Lavasa and are supposed to be shooting those scenes currently, but everyday that they don’t, their losses mount.
Salman and Sohail Khan have now filed a complaint with the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers, the president of which is Sajid Nadiadwala. He says he’s currently looking into the matter, but there’s no official word yet on how this situation will be resolved. It seems, though, that the fighters have been ordered to return within the next few days to continue shooting.
