Team MissMalini caught up with Parineeti Chopra at the launch of an innovative new digital campaign to support the new launch of the NIVEA Total Face Cleanup, in Mumbai yesterday and we spoke to her about her off-duty beauty regime, the designer labels she wears, what her fans mean to her and the films she’s currently working on.

Watch & Listen:

What is your off-duty beauty routine?

Actually, I have none. Whenever I’m not in front of the camera, I prefer not to put any make up at all because it just gives my skin time to breathe. Howver, I think drinking water is highly underrated and you should drink a lot of water.

Who are your favourite designers / labels?

I wish I had one. I really don’t. But normally on a day to day basis, I wear tracks and chappals and ganjees because I feel so comfortable in them. And I’m more of a comfort-wear person because all the uncomfortable stuff I have to wear in front of the camera anyway – all the heels and the dresses. So when I’m not shooting, it’s just comfort wear.

I’m a person who believes in quality and if that means spending a little extra and not buying street clothes to buy a particular brand, then yes, I would do that. But I would not wear branded clothes because it is “that” collection or “that” summer / fall line. I don’t even understand all of that.

I like to wear high-strreet brands because they are very much my style. They are cool, chilled, thin materials, bright colours and very good quality.

What has been your weirdest fan moment?

Recently I got sent a lot of fan mail which was very flattering and very sweet. But the craziest fans have to be just these people who I meet a lot but they would constantly take a photograph and autograph every single time. And I remember them by now. And I ask them, “didn’t you just take a photograph two days ago,” and it really doesn’t matter to them. They will want to take a photo every single time they see me.

What are five things that we would always find in your handbag?

The five things you would always find in my bag are my Nivea Total Face Cleanup face-wash, my mobile charger, I will always have a lip balm and I will always have a lot of perfume because you should always smell good.

@rashmi_2518h: Who is Parineeti’s favourite stylist or designer?

Like I just answered, I don’t have a favourite designer but I’m a huge fan of Manish Malhotra’s work and Masaba’s work but I personally prefer to wear a lot of high-street brands.

@Nazia_Motiwalla18h: If you could change one thing about any of your characters till date, who would you choose and what would you change?

Whatever I am up until now is because of the characters that I have played so I would change…nothing!

@ChopraLover18h: That one thing makes your day brighter?

A reallllyyyy good meal. Im a huge foodie so if I have really tasty food, I’m happy for hours.

@Sarzzzz1818h: Is there one thing the movie industry has taught you that you didn’t know before?

It has taught me that I must take care of what I wear all the time which is something I never used to do in my personal life. I get a lot of flak for it in papers so the one thing I’ve learnt is that as an actress, you have to take care of how you look ALL THE TIME.

@Ashish4uhere20h: What do you expect from your fans who want to meet u once? Eager to know the answer so that I can work on it.

I think just get me some pizza. Then I’ll surely never forget you throughout your life.

And finally numerous fans asked, what are the current films you are working on?

I just finished Mani Sharma’s film which is being made by Yashraj and now I’m working on Hasee Toh Phasee with Siddharth Malhotra. I’ve just shot for two days, as of now, but I’m having a lot of fun.  It’s a typical rom-com and I have a really edgy character – so it’s something very new.

I would like to play very different characters in every film and I’m getting to do that now in Hasee Toh Phasee. It is being produced by Dharma Productions and Phantom Productions so it’s an amazing team and I just hope the film also comes out well.
