Now we don’t know how true this story is but our sources tell us that actor Mona Singh – best known for her role as Jassi on TV and as Kareena Kapoor’s sister in Three Idiots – behaved very unprofessionally with Karan Johar.
Reports have it that she was signed on for Gippi to play the role of Gippi’s mother. Says our source, “In the movie. Gippi is a teenager and the film revolves around the problems adolescents face. Mona was the first choice and all the required paperwork was done. However, almost a week before the unit could take off to Shimla for the shoot, she backed out.”
Adds the source, “Apparently Mona had second thoughts about playing a mother to a teenager and it was quite a task to sort out the situation. However, the makers approached actor Divya Dutta and she took up the offer.”
In a media statement, director Sonam Nair says, “Yes, this happened. She (Mona) said she would do the film and then thought over her decision again.”
