Vidyut Jammwal Saves a Stuntmans Life!

Few people translate their reel-life action into real life and action star Vidyut Jammwal is among those few you could count, on the fingers of one hand. In Commando, he played saviour to a girl who was being harassed and chased by the local don and recently – in real life – he actually saved the life of a stunt-man on the sets of Bullet Raja in Etawah near Lucknow.

A production source reveals, “The shoot of a combat-based action sequence was underway on the edge of a tall cliff at a location in Etawah. Vidyut, who plays a cop in the film, was shooting for an attack sequence with one of the fighters from the film. The cliff  was overlooking an incredibly deep valley. After the first take of the sequence was done, they were asked to do another take. Since the cliff was a hard location to get a strong shot at, Vidyut and the stunt man had to be standing at a certain angle. While the second shot was underway, the stunt man who was standing at an incorrect angle accidentally slipped from the edge of the cliff and started rolling down the cliff. Without thinking about his own safety, Vidyut instinctively jumped off behind him to try his best to save him. Given his martial arts ability and his agility, he managed to get a hold of the man after himself, sustaining injuries, and thus prevented the fall from being fatal and helped him climb back up to the surface.”

Adds the source from the set, “Everyone including the director Tigmanshu Dhulia and the producer Rahul Mittra on location were completely awestruck and couldn’t believe their eyes. The fighter, who’s life was saved felt deeply indebted to Vidyut and didn’t expect anyone – especially Vidyut – to have jumped in after him. For Vidyut, it was something he did at a very human level. He was an actual true-to-life hero on set for everyone thereon especially for all the fighters on stuntmen who were completely overwhelmed!”

We’re pretty overwhelmed too. Kudos and cheers to Vidyut.
