We’ve all been there. Rudolph or the Unicorn, somehow pimples always know to erupt on the most visible part of your face, especially when it’s most inconvenient. I’m kinda in that predicament right now which is putting a major dampener on my weekend so here’s everything I’ve tried (so far) that appears to work! If you have a better fix please do not hesitate to leave it in the comments below!

1. Toothpaste.

Seriously, this one’s been around in my quick fix kit for over a decade. Dab on a blob right on top of your pimple over night and it’ll be dry by morning!

2. Chandan.

My pal Diya Kapoor introduced me to this a decade ago. Chandan aka Sandalwood is super natural. Its antiseptic and germicidal properties make it ideal for treating acne. And the fact that it comes in the form of a small thick stick means you can make your own paste whenever you want by rubbing it on a special rock base with a little water.

3. Proactiv.

I told you about this a couple years ago on my blog. The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide and it quickly dries up acne. I have the whole range and it’s a life saver. Sometimes just a dab of the refining face mask does the trick!

4. Tea Tree Oil.

Tea tree oil acne treatment works because the oil is like a solvent and is able to cut through grease and dirt, helping to unblock the pores. While the antibacterial properties of tea tree oil kills the acne causing bacteria on the skins surface, preventing further outbreaks. In fact I stopped by The Body Shop an hour ago and discovered their new Tea Tree Oil pore minimiser too. I’m a sucker for advertising so bought the combo pack 🙂

5. Cornstarch.

I didn’t know about this one until my pal Sushil Charles from Smashh the Salon must have seen my tweet and told me to first rub my pimple with an ice cub and then make a cornflour & water paste with a drop of tea tree oil. Worked like a charm, the redness is gone and the pimple is at least half the size it was an hour ago!
