Just like Aamir Khan celebrated 25 years of Bollywood this year Jackie Shroff celebrates 3 decades. He made his foray into filmland back in 1983 with a film called Hero with Meenakshi Seshadri. I bet you didn’t realise that these songs that you ALL somehow recognise, were from the same movie! Especially Ding Dong O Baby Sing a Song.
Shroff was born on 1 February 1957 as Jai Kishen Shroff to a Gujarati family. They lived in a low income chawl in the Teen Batti area at Walkeshwar, Mumbai. Before he was a movie star he was a local goonda. He also modelled a little But it was director/producer Subhash Ghai who gave Jackie his screen name when he launched him in the film Hero. And the rest as they say is history!
