Writer/director Sanjay Gupta has gone on record to state that the after Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) and Shootout at Wadala (2013), there would be more films to look forward to in the Shootout series. It seems that he’s already planning the next one: after basing his characters on the likes of Maya Dolas and Manya Surve, word has it he has someone else in mind for the next installment.
According to TOI, Sanjay’s new story will feature bits of the life of Vijay Salaskar, Senior Police Inspector and encounter specialist. Salaskar was killed while fighting terrorists during the 2008 Mumbai attacks, but before that has killed around 80 criminals during encounters. Rumours doing the rounds suggest that Abhishek Bachchan is being kept in mind to play Salaskar, while John Abraham may play the role of another top cop.
Of course, it’s still early days and there’s no confirmation about this yet, but do you think this sounds like a film you’d want to watch?
