The greatest gift to an artist is being appreciated for your art. And when another artist shows their love via their own medium, nothing can beat it! I recently received this poster as a gift from a graphic artist, Kenny Ngairangbam, who is originally from Manipur. He’s been following Ram Sampath’s music since his Colourblind days and also loves the Delhi Belly album.

So when Kenny heard about the music launch of the film Fukrey in a college campus in Delhi, he made it a point to come down and meet the both of us with these amazing posters of Ram and me. My look is obviously inspired from the Bedardi Raja video of Delhi Belly, with a Bass guitar et al, although he told me in person that his family most loves the music of Satyamev Jayate and my song in the show Ghar yaad aata hai mujhe is what all of them sing in Delhi at the end of each party or gathering… remembering home and all the good times!

I requested him to make a poster of all the singers in the soundtrack and he was sweet enough to agree. Check out Kailash Kher with his dumroo and Mika Singh with his mole. I love Keerthi Sagathia’s solo pic in particular, he is surely one of the most talented singers of his generation! The only regret I have is that we could not get the lyricist Munna Dhiman into the party and another special singer on the album Tarannum Mallik. Short of time, after all Kenny works in a regular job by the day.
