As an actor, Riteish Deshmukh has always won critical acclaim and now as a producer, his production house (Mumbai Film Company) is aiming for the Olympics – almost.

After his much acclaimed film, Balak Palak, Riteish is now venturing in to producing a bilingual film on India’s first ever individual Olympic legend – wrestler Khashaba Jadhav – who won the freestyle wrestling bronze medal at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki.

Says Riteish, “The film will be called Pocket Dynamo (that was what he was fondly known as) and we have acquired the rights for the biopic based on Khashaba Jadhav’s life. I’m glad that his son, Ranjit Jadhav, deemed us worthy of giving his father’s story to be essayed on screen. He has quite a noteworthy journey and earned our country it’s first international medal but in time, his name and story was something that was lost. He is a hero who deserves to be remembered and honored. We will work hard to do justice to the portrayal of his achievements . We are currently working on the script.”

The film will be released in Hindi and Marathi as well. And as of now, there is no news on who they will cast in the starring role.
