It’s my way for the highway – this is definitely film maker Imtiaz Ali’s mantra for his next film, Highway, which releases in December this year.
Few know that back in 2000, he had directed an episode of the same name for Rishtey on Zee TV but he always felt he could have fleshed-out the story, further!
Says Imtiaz, “I had made Highway for Rishtey on Zee TV more than a decade ago. It was a forty five minute slot. The episode was well received but I felt that the story had a lot more to say. It had power and magnificence which Icould not do justice to in such a short span of time. More than a decade later the story was still with me and I was still desperate to go into it. So this time I jumped in.”
Adds the director, “Highway is a story of two opposite people united by fate. I had wanted it to be my first film. I am very glad that it did not happen that time. I think I understand the story much better now.” he adds.
The film stars Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda.
