Paris Jackson, the 15 year old daughter of late pop icon Michael Jackson, is recovering in hospital after an apparent suicide attempt last night. She was taken by ambulance at 2AM local time for what the LA County Fire Department is so far describing as a “possible overdose.” Although there has been no official confirmation of the details, gossip rag TMZ is reporting that in addition to ingesting a large number of Motrin pills (ibuprofen), Paris cut her right arm with a meat cleaver and also left a suicide note. A call to a suicide helpline was serious enough that 911 emergency personnel were alerted. Fortunately, help arrived in time and Paris is now recovering with stitches, under 72 hour psychiatric evaluation. No word yet on what might have triggered the attempt, but Paris’ last two tweets do seem to indicate she was not in the happiest of places:
