Nisha JamVwal‘s Lhasa Apso Chikaba, Ganeemat Woolverine, went to God on 22nd May, 2013. She has written a poignant poem as an ode to him. Heartfelt condolences from Team MissMalini.
You sparkled through my life anon
You made me see love’s other side
Through you I learnt the meaning of being,
It was you that opened my heart so wide
You came to me when all seemed dark
You came bounding in all glow & spark
You nestled into my hair and squealed
You always had a take on things
From angst, pain, darkness, my shield
I love you and I always will
I have you with me in my heart
From the moment we met I fell in love
I knew from the very start…
You are my gift from God
What I don’t know, never will
Is why He took you back so soon!
In doggie years it may be long
But for me it was the blink of an eye
My cheeky-cheeky Guddoo Pie!
I try so hard to set you free
I try to be wise and see
That you must move on
You have miles to go
And yet I cling…….
Remember when you yowled
In agony to hear me sing?
Remember when you fought
For every bone like thing?
The quilt we scrapped over
The wind beneath my wings!
You sparkle within my eye-
Remember the time
We ran down the hill
The chicken sandwiches you stole..
ran away with the pepper mill?
You chased your tail?
Now all is still!?
Where are you? Are you fine?
I pray for your happiness
My love, my dream, my sunshine!
You live within me, you ever will,
I know you are in every pore!
And yet your absence glares at me,
Entrenched and present in my core.
I try to let you go, to set you free,
But every moment is with thee,
Every second in your name
You are and will always be with me.
