Actor Vivek Oberoi brought a smile to the lips and a dance in the steps of a whole group of young girls from the slums of Dharavi at the rehearsals for the Dance With Joy evening, conceptualised by Arts in Motion Studio, at their studio in Mumbai.
Each year the studio has been supporting a beneficiary cause and this year’s theme is Ending Fear, Empowering Women. This year, Dance with Joy aims at empowering women to rise above their fears of physical and mental abuse, sexual harassment and female foeticide. It’s also about creating awareness among women against rural dogmas and outdated urban attitudes.
Said Vivek Oberoi, “It feels great to be here and be a part of such a good cause. The energy and enthusiasm that these girls have is really worth an applause. Dance with Joy’ by Arts in Motion is a beautiful medium where these young girls can express their talent!”
Dance with Joy is the brainchild of Aanchal Gupta. It will be held on Saturday, 7th July, 7.30 pm at the St. Andrews Auditorium, Bandra, Mumbai.
