If my sources at YRF are to be believed than Deepika Padukone was actually the first choice for not one but two of their big budget films. An insider reveals that Dippy was approached by Yash Chopra for both Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Dhoom 3. However, the actress decided to opt for Chennai Express and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani instead.
Both the films that Deepika rejected went to her rival Katrina Kaif. While JTHJ was a moderate success, Katrina didn’t get any praise for her role. (Remember how blue she was at their premiere party?)
And as far as D3 is concerned, insiders reveal that it is an out and out Aamir Khan film and Kat has very little to do. No wonder Katrina was overheard telling her management to scout better scripts for her a few months ago!
