The day to return from Delhi and come back to Mumbai was finally here.

Quick photo ops with Rishi Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Irrfan Khan & Shruti Haasan later and we were on our own. Take a look at what we got!

Rishi Kapoor was in the room for 3 mins and 30 people were bugging him about different things. That’s what it’s like to be him, I guess. An over-enthusiastic Zee News reporter wanted a second picture with him that I doubt she got.

Huma claimed to be in ‘another zone’ and ‘wearing a jumpsuit’ when we asked her to be a little candid in the photos. So that was that.

Our photographer, Khyati was very pleased in her interaction with Irrfan. Although he asked her why she wasn’t using a tele-lens, he was quite happy with the pictures even prodding her to take some in the lift.

Shruti, on the other hand, scooped up a necklace from her bag in the car to cover up her revealing neck and didn’t have the time to tell us who she was wearing.

We got that information later from her ‘business manager’ not to be confused with her ‘PR manager’. Both of them were travelling with us, you see.

The flight back was absolutely chaotic. Especially since Huma’s spot boy was so worried about her ‘steel tiffin’, he had everyone worked up. The story seemed to suggest that Huma’s mother sent home cooked food for her in a steel tiffin which was probably left behind with Rishi Kapoor’s staff ‘Pappu’ in Rishiji’s suite. A little birdy later told us Huma’s mom called the boy four times asking him the whereabouts of the tiffin.

Maybe, they should have asked Irrfan who has starred in Lunchbox earlier titled Dabba? He probably had some to spare. They may not be as expensive but definitely utilitarian.

Here’s what we learnt while travelling with the cast of D Day: Nikhil Advani is a gentleman who offered us his suite ‘cuz he thought a room wasn’t organised for us. Irrfan is always in another zone. Huma is happy to talk when she’s in the mood but won’t even recognise you otherwise. Shruti is pre-occupied with her phone and travels with a sizeable unit that isn’t easy to cut through. Arjun is actually sweet and offered us samosas when he thought we wanted to shoot him eating those.

Having spent a lot of time on outdoor film shoots all through growing up, I’ve come to realise that actors’ tantrums increase on such occasions, if not get worse. From their rooms to the food to the car to the people they talk to, it’s a big task organising everything. Thankfully, there wasn’t time to shop or they would have stuck those bills on the producer.
