Things have already been a bit tense between Ekta Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan, after all the drama surrounding the release date clash of Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobara and Chennai Express. The clash has been averted (Ekta moved her film to the 15th), although there seems to be some lingering bitter feelings… and it looks like things will get a little more difficult in the coming week.
Apparently, both Shah Rukh and Ekta are planning Iftaar parties to celebrate the release of their films, and are trying to outdo each other. Even when it came to the promotional game, they were going all out to one-up the other. Ekta used all her television contacts, while SRK was seen on almost every reality TV show as a guest. Now, it’s down to the Iftaar party, and there’s a buzz doing the rounds that SRK may invite Salman Khan for the added publicity. We find this a little hard to believe, though the whispers persist. On the business side, too, there’s a battle to secure the maximum number of screens for the second week of business.
