It seems like whenever there’s a Shah Rukh Khan film around the corner, he’s embroiled in some form of controversy. He’s had issues with political parties before, and now there’s yet another one – the MNS is threatening to stall the release of his film, Chennai Express, if their demands are not met.

Chennai Express is expected to open big, and the producers are going all out there to secure a massive release for the film. However, as per reports, Raj Thackeray has sent a warning to single-screen cinemas to not remove hit Marathi film Duniyadari in order to showcase Chennai Express.

Amey Khopkar (president of Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena, a group affiliated to the MNS) has apparently claimed that if this is done, they will deal with the matter in “MNS style.” He has also maintained that if the Chennai Express team tries to get single-screen theatres to give them a wider release, they will not let the movie be exhibited in Maharashtra and will remove the publicity posters.
