Sachiin Joshi may be busy filming for his upcoming flick Jackpot, but he was able to take some time out to celebrate his birthday in Mumbai last night – a celebration which may be more notable for who didn’t attend as opposed to who did.
Hosted in the company of his wife (former model and actress, Urvashi Sharma), a few film friends were in attendance.
Sohail Khan was one of the first to arrive, followed by Aftab Shivdasani, Sucheta and Harrison James, Daboo Ratnani, Murali Sharma, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Kanchi Kaul, Dino Morea, Ravi Kishan and others.
However, not many know that on the guest list were names of Ekta Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan. Sachin is friends with both the warring producers. In fact SRK had even turned up for Sachin’s last release Mumbai Mirror’s film premier despite being unwell. It was expected that he would also attend his friend’s birthday bash. A source reveals that as soon as he learnt Sachin had also invited Ekta, SRK’s managers advised him against going for it. They didn’t want to create any uncomfortable situation for him. Sachin had met Ekta in Boston where she had gone to pursue a study course. Our source reveals that SRK sent a “sorry” SMS to Sachin saying he couldn’t make it because of film promotions for Chennai Express!
