As I type this, I’m just about an hour away from watching Chennai Express – in a single-screen theatre, as is meant to be done. My strategy for getting excited for this film is a simple one-step process of listening to 1 2 3 4 on repeat, which I’ve been doing since morning (booty shake, booty shake). And you know what? I don’t even need to go to YouTube to watch 1 2 3 4, because earlier, we got the coolest press kit in the office and I can actually watch it straight off that!
The press kit came with a letter, a CD and an awesome
thingermajigger video book, which contains videos of the trailer, the songs, and some behind the scenes footage. Here’s a look at the video book:
Yeah, I can watch SRK doing the booty shake whenever I want. Are you jealous yet?
It came along with this leaflet of on-set pictures:
But I think the best part of all was the handwritten letter, because it’s not everyday that you get a letter from Shah Rukh Khan. So let’s just say I’m sufficiently jealous of MissMalini:
(Thinking of cutting off his signature from that letter and keeping it. You think MissMalini will notice?! More importantly, do I sound like a creep?!)
And the icing on the cake – SRK tweeted the same picture that MissMalini tweeted when she first got the press release. Look, look:
Okay, now bye. I’ve gotta go get on the train, baby.
