Many stars like to boast about their physical training and the daring action sequences in their films, but Bollywood’s newest action hero, Vidyut Jammwal, takes things to a whole other level. Vidyut has just left China where he spent a week training at the Shaolin Monastery, adding to his already impressive resume of rigorous martial arts training and Russian Special Forces training.
Normally reserved for martial arts experts, Vidyut spent the week in the Henan province of China at the Shaolin Temple on Mount Song. Any martial arts enthusiast will tell you that this is quite an honor, as this temple is sacred to followers of the philosophy.
Says Vidyut, “My visit was to commemorate and salute Bodhidharma – the great master of Kalaripayattu, the mother of all martial art forms from India which he then took forward to China. When I took part in the camp, I disconnected from the outside world. The camp covered aspects of attack, combat, self defense, protection and healing and spanned various martial art forms.”
Clearly, Vidyut is one of the few stars who actually practices more than he preaches!
