Now here’s an App that could save your life. AHA Software has come up with an App called Panic Alert to help victims fight crime and ward off potential attackers. It can be downloaded easily on an android device and works on the simple premise of sending panic SMSes to emergency numbers pre-registered on your phone. Alerting your friends/family that you are in trouble and giving them your exact location. The app is accompanied with the sound of a siren which is designed to startle attackers and dissuade them from committing the crime.
Also since the makers understand that in an emergency situation accessing a specific app on your phone might be difficult, they have rigged it so you simply hit your cell phone power button thrice to activate the Panic feature.
The phone will send an SMS with your exact location provided an internet connection is active on your cellphone. If the internet connection is not activated, Google Maps will provide a link to your location via your fine GPS based or coarse GSM based coordinates.
