Bollywood singer, Shweta Pandit, attended the 70th Venice Film Festival, considered to be the oldest existing film festival in the world. Shweta was there along with the likes of George Clooney and Sandra Bullock who were promoting Gravity, James Franco for Child of God, Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall.
Shweta was invited by RAI Cinema and ODU Movies, Italian Film Productions, for the launch of their most awaited Italian film L’intrepido (The lonely Hero) making Shweta the only Indian artist to be representing Bollywood there, apart from Freida Pinto!
Says Shweta, “I think the movie is a classic. It speaks about the situation of unemployment in Italy today and is an amazing true depiction of the life of a true hero!”
On the first day of the festival, Shweta had the thrill of meeting Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and was then spotted at the Maserati car launch. She also met Scarlett Johansson. Shweta adds, “She’s so beautiful and I saw her so unexpectedly walking in the hotel that it makes you smile.”
Speaking about the festival, Shweta says that it is a class apart from all she’s attended and Venice is so gorgeous that the film experience just gets more amazing!
“Attending the Venice Film Festival isn’t that easy because of its location. I am glad I could actually be there.. it was special,” she signs off.
