Actor Kunal Kapoor is a well-known racing enthusiast and loves the thrill of driving fast cars. In fact, few know that he’s actually been training at a rally school for the last year and recently had a chance to put his skills to test.
Kunal took part in a vintage car rally in Europe – known to be one of the most challenging vintage car rallies – as the drivers have to negotiate rough climate and terrain and drive through mountains, sleet, rain and thunderstorms. A large number of cars are known to drop out because of overheating engines and damaged tyres.
Says Kunal, “At the end of it everything from my bones to my eye sockets were in pain but it was amazing driving not only through such beautiful terrain, but also to see so many incredible vintage cars around. You feel like a kid in a toy store.”
Kunal and his Norwegian team mate finished in the top twenty five. “Hopefully we’ll crack the top fifteen the next time,” he says with a glint in his eye.
