While he’s played a plethora of roles in reel life, it’s his real life role as an eco-warrior that has us rightly proud of actor Prateik Babbar.
The weekend saw him roll up his sleeves (literally), wear rubber gloves and head to Juhu Beach in Mumbai to clear up the debris washed ashore after immersion of the Ganesha idols.
Tons of floral and decorative waste is dumped into the sea during the ten day festival, along with the idols. And very often, bits and pieces of the idols, which have not properly disintegrated in the water, also wash up on the shore.
Prateik, being environmentally conscious, took it upon himself to gather a few people and clean-up the beach, thus demonstrating the need for cleanliness and civic sense.
