Delhi is known for its love of all things extravagant. And the ladies showed how they like to start their week in style as they indulged in champagne cocktails and canapés while enjoying an exhibition of Mandira Wirk’s latest collection and Damiani’s dazzling diamonds. It seems tea-time is more of a happy hour for Delhi’s divas— dressed in cocktail dresses which many of the women teamed with Damiani jewels they enjoyed the view from the Oberoi’s rooftop as they chatted about—what else but fashion? Some of the women were heading to Milan Fashion Week which has already started, others were discussing what to wear for the next social soiree on their agendas.
There is no question that the season has begun. Judging by the wares on display, it seems to be all about the colour nude and lots of skin show— as that was the statement Mandira made with her collection. These pieces had been designed for the Miss Diva competition and you could imagine a future Miss Universe wearing one of these gowns for her crowning ceremony. The jewels on display were all about the best of “Made of Italy” design. Elegant, graceful yet they make a statement. Seen enjoying the diamonds on display were Tanisha Mohan, Shabhnam Singhal, Surita Tandon, Shalini Jindal and Cosmopolitan’s fun fearless editor Nandini Bhalla.
