There were whispers of Marc Jacobs leaving Louis Vuitton for a while now. At yesterday’s show at Paris Fashion Week, it was announced that he, indeed was leaving the brand to focus on the IPO of his eponymous brand. Jacobs was first appointed 16 years ago, as the first ever Ready to Wear designer for Louis Vuitton – which until then only concentrated on luggage and handbags.
Jacobs transformed the company, introducing cool collaborations with artists such as Stephen Sprouse and Yayoi Kusama. He was known for his theatrical fashion shows. Check out some of his most iconic ones.
Wonder who will take over the helm there?
