Hello Fashion lovers!!

I am your very own tuk-tuk girl (Sabah Khan) and I am currently here in London, having a great time post my brother’s Big Fat Indian Wedding!!

Speaking of weddings, I started exploring the fashion scene here and I must say, I was quite overwhelmed at how popular

desi

fashion is and all the British Asians have great knowledge about Indian designers and their collections.

Editorials like Asian Bride Magazine and Asian Woman are keeping the  community updated with the best of Indian fashion fresh off the runway.

It was a great pleasure working as guest stylist for Asian Bride Magazine’s Biggest Issue Ever.

As they say, no Bollywood wedding is complete without the master of Bollywood fashion and that’s why, when I was asked to style the cover for the magazine, I immediately set my eyes on to this “To die for” Manish Malhotra couture fresh off the runway from the FDCI Delhi Couture week.

Also, I had an exciting time at the Bristol Balloon Festival where we shot 8 looks for designer Kajal Patel. The idea was to capture the colourful extravaganza of Indian wear set against the backdrop of the eccentricity of the festival where as many as 100 balloons were launched into the evening sky. It is one of the largest events in Europe and attracts a crowd of over 10,000. There was a spectacular display of fireworks post the balloon launch.

Moving on to my first love: Make-up!! I was so excited when I heard our next shoot would be the beauty shoot for ace make-up artist Shazia Khan who has her own make-up academy. A beautiful blend of bright colours was used to highlight the model’s eyes and worked amazingly well with the jewellery pieces and outfit.

We decided to scout a restaurant with Moroccan décor along the streets of Ealing and were treated to some wonderful pink tea infused with herbs where this gorgeous picture was shot.

I got a call from the editor and she wanted me to do a final shoot with them before they went into print!! I had to agree when she said we were shooting in the studio and the designer in question was Rashid Malik.

I was treated to some very beautiful designer-wear, out of which I was asked to work on two outfits. I thought ‘modern meets traditional’ the minute I looked at these stunning pieces.

I suffer from shoe obsession!! So, when I was asked to pick out a killer pair of heels from Poze, I was overjoyed. I was being led into the shoe cupboard, a place where I would comfortably spend a few hours. I picked these Swarovski studded heels to go with the diamond studded clutch, and then thought how royal I would feel wearing those, and asked the model to pose in the same way.

I am calling this post tuk-tuk diaries and I will keep bringing more fashion updates!!
