Riyaaz Amlani

Riyaaz Amlani is one of Mumbai’s most loved restaurateurs – not only for his larger than life persona, his passion for the good life and his charisma – but also because he’s given Mumbai some of the best foodie joints.

From the kitsch Cafe Mocha chain to Mumbai’s Salt Water Cafe and Pune’s Stone Water Grill – Riyaaz has redefined gastronomy and made it accessible to even the middle class.

And so, on Saturday night when he threw open the doors of his second Salt Water Cafe at Churchgate, it came as no surprise to see many of Mumbai’s gourmets and die-hard foodies troop all the way into town to check out the fab new venue.

Interestingly, actress Neha Dhupia was at the party and so was her ex-boyfriend, India’s famed Squash player, Ritwik Bhattacharya. He was accompanied by his wife, model Pia Trivedi. The duo got married in September.
